CONSULTATION

All consultations begin via text message (480)274-9949.

Please leave us the following:

  1. Your name
  2. Whether you currently have dreadlocks or not
  3. What services you are interested in receiving
  4. Pictures of your hair in its current state.

This applies to both those who currently have dreadlocks and those who do not.

Current Style

It is best to get help with taking these photos, however they are doable with the help of a mirror. They must be well lit by sunlight or very bright indoor lighting (like a bathroom vanity) and show, at a minimum, the following poses:

If you have Loose/ Brushable Hair

Hair Down Back

Allow hair to hang freely.

Do not tuck hair behind ears.

Allow hair to fall naturally and do not try to arrange it.

Slightly spread hair across shoulders, length permitting.

Try to highlight/clearly show any particular areas you want special attention paid to or that you would like to have a conversation about.

Photograph the entire length of your hair.

Hair Down Right or Left Side

Allow hair to hang freely.

Do not tuck hair behind ear.

Allow hair to fall naturally and do not try to arrange it.

Flip bangs from opposing side so they can be seen in the photo - if your style allows for it.

Try to highlight/clearly show any particular areas you want special attention paid to or that you would like to have a conversation about.

Photograph the entire length of your hair.

Ponytail Right or Left Side

If a ponytail is not possible substitute this with a simple left side view.

Use a thin hair rubber band (such as the thick Ouchless! bands from Goody), not a scrunchie or bandana.

Place hair in a ponytail, with the hair hanging freely in the back. Not a bun, with the hair folded under.

Place ponytail about halfway up the back of the head. A ponytail that is too high or low can be difficult to assess.

Customers with shaved sides and back should put the pony as close to this position as possible. Please do your best to show/ tell us that you have shaved portions.

Photograph the entirety of the pony and pulled back hair with a focus on the rubber band.

Style Ambitions

Please also include photographs showing your dreadlock ambitions/style inspiration should be clear and easy to see.

They don't have to be exactly like what you want, but you should be able to say what you like about and specifically want to emulate from each photo you send.

If you Have Partial Locs and Would Like Additional Locs Installed

Loose hair up in a tight bun, and locs hanging freely

Right or Left Side

Hair that you would like to remain Brushable in a tight bun.

The hair that you would like to be dreadlocked, in a ponytail (with the focus of the picture on the rubber band).

Already dreadlocked hair, hanging freely.

Please include additional photos you feel would be relevant in assessing the work to be done.

Additional photos are usually not needed, but may be requested in some cases.

Please be mindful of shadows, blurring, odd angles, and other factors that may make it difficult to get an accurate understanding of your hair's current condition.

If you have specific areas in question or any concerns we encourage you to send well-lit close up photos and a short explanation of what issue or concern you have.
